Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME generic extension is the only one supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are famous by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to acquire john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already taken 3rd-level domains remained operational.

You will be able to correct the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer key from the present domain service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. There are no specific requirements on who can reserve a dot NAME domain, but in order to preserve the idea behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.
